HTC One with Android 4.3 certified

The HTC One running Android 4.3 has been certified by the Bluetooth Special Information Group (SIG), confirming that the next version of Android - which hasn't formally be announced yet - should be just around the corner.

The certification, which was awarded to the new Google Edition version of the HTC One, clearly references Android 4.3 in the listing .

The model received certification for Bluetooth on 5 Jul after the application was filed on 18 June. The model number, PN071, matches the stock Android handset available from the Google Play Store in the US.

Android 4.3 is expected to add Bluetooth 4.0 LE support that will allow smartphones to very easily talk to other smart devices like your new shiny smart watch, or other appliances and gadgets around your house.

"Sources familiar with the matter" talking to anyone who will listen, have yet to pinpoint a date for when we will see Android 4.3 officially announced.

In the past Google has varied when in the year a new major OS update is released.

We will keep you posted.
